Ages and Stages
Infants
Ages 6 weeks- 18 months
At Next Generation DLC, our small babies are held in a baby carrier or being interacted with. The majority of their waking hours are used to encourage bonding and a sense of security. As infants become mobile, they are encouraged to explore their environment and satisfy their curiosity about the world around them. Baby sign language is encouraged to help the infant communicate their wants and needs. We are also able to support parents with both cloth diapers and breast milk.
Toddlers
Ages 18-36 months
Toddlers at Next Generation DLC, are encouraged to explore their growing sense of independence through free choice and structured activities. Some children at this age are ready for preschool type learning activities, and we happily oblige. Language development and the power of "using your words," is emphasized during this period.
Preschool
Ages 3 years - ready for school
Preschoolers experience a "learning explosion." At Next Generation DLC, we take full advantage of the insatiable curiosity, and endless energy of a preschool aged child. Individualized Montessori type lessons are given in math and language arts when the child shows signs of readiness. Circle time, group activities, and individual choice activities are worked into their daily routine.
School Age
K - 12 years
School Age children are given time to unwind after school. They are welcome to play outside or choose from a variety of age appropriate activities and crafts. Children are given a healthy breakfast to prepare them for their day, and a nutritious snack after school. We are located in the City of Fairfield School district.
